Creating a watercolor design….

is a lot harder than I thought it would be. That’s probably because I had no idea what I was doing and I kept doing things wrong. But I love my finished watercolor design! I have always wondered how to do something like this and I’m so glad that I know now.

To create my watercolor design, I brought in the photos I had of eyes into Photoshop. I then bumped the brightness and contrast, made them black and white, and put a watercolor filter on them. I created a few layers of the image with different effects on them and then merged the layers into one to create a straight black and white graphic. After that was ready I brought in a watercolor layer. On the watercolor layer I created a mask and copied my eye photo right into it and inversed it. There you go! Then I added in a paper background and text to give it a little extra.

What do you think?
