At South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona, there is a perfect photoshoot trail called Warpaint. It’s a well-known trail to the residents of Ahwatukee. And it’s very popular with photographers! I can’t even count the amount of time I’ve been to this trail for a photoshoot, or even to take my turn in front of the camera! I’ve definitely visited this spot more often for a photoshoot than to actually go on a hike. To be fair, I’m not a hiker – but you get the picture!

Early one beautiful Saturday morning, I met with this wonderful family for their photoshoot at Warpaint trail. Their oldest daughter had just returned from a mission and they hadn’t seen her in over a year. They were still riding the excitement of having her back with them. That love and joy just radiates in these photos and I was so happy to be the one to capture that.
