The Divergent movie may have come out a while ago but a new movie poster was just released!

This week I created a professional style movie poster featuring myself. I love the book so I decided to base my poster off of the Divergent movie – which I actually liked too.

To create my poster I started off with the basic idea of having a photo of myself with tattoos like they have in the books and movie. I set up a studio in my living room and snapped a ton of pictures, wearing all black using the SQIBB method. Meaning that I took photos that were Studio Quality with an Invisible Black Background using my speed lights. I put my camera on a timer and started pretending I knew how to punch to get a fun, intense photo.

Once I got a photo that I liked I brought it into Photoshop and got rid of anything that showed up behind me using the masking tool. So it was just me surrounded by darkness. Next I found the tattoos and placed them where I wanted them on my arm using a displacement map to make them look more like tattoos. After that I brought in the fire and buildings image and the title. I used SF Movie Poster Font from http://www.dafont.com/sf-movie-poster.font to get the font to list my stars and production information.

There were a lot of small edits in between all of that and I spent a lot of time on this. I love the end result. What do you think?
