The beach creatures of the Oregon coast big and small
When Cody and I started off this adventure to Oregon I was the most excited about going to Portland and trying the famous Voodoo Doughnuts. But I was second most excited about the coast! I’ve gone to California to the beach pretty much every year of my life (San Diego is Phoenix’s playground) and I love the beach. Little did I know that Oregon beaches and not quite the same as California. It’s cold on the Oregon coast and no one is in the water. No boogie boarding for me 🙁
But there are so many beach creatures in Oregon! I had never seen the little beach creatures I found here before. It’s nuts to see the living shells on the rocks on the beach. Many of them are alive but there are also dead shells and beach creatures that dry up when the tide is out. It was also fun to be able to get some shots of the big beach creatures. Newport has tons of seals and birds. They were a blast to watch as they pushed each other off of rocks and played.
The baby seal tried unsuccessfully to get on his rock for about 5 minutes before he made it. He stayed there for about 20 seconds before a wave came and knocked him back into the water.
