I had so much fun with this cute group. One day in November, I got a message from an old friend who wanted to book a photoshoot. Her little boy was turning one and to celebrate she wanted to take some cake smash photos! I love taking photos of kids, especially babies since I’ve recently joined the ranks of parents everywhere obsessed with taking their kid’s photo.  She also hadn’t taken a family photo since her little one joined the family, so we made that a priority as well. 

We scheduled our shoot at a beautiful park nearby. Unfortunately, on the day of the shoot the park was unexpectedly closing early. I was panicking! This park is gorgeous and I was cutting it too close to find a whole other location. Thankfully just around the corner a separate portion of the park exists where we got some beautiful shots. I bet you can’t even tell that there were bunny remains not 20 feet from our 1st birthday photo shoot location – ew!

First, we got our family shots in and then it was time for the cake smash! This kiddo was so cute and tentative with his cake. His mom and grandma had a whole set up ready for him and he just wanted to sit and play rather than smash his hands into his cake. We were lucky that the second he tasted it though, he was ready to really get into it! He’s such a cutie and those eyes just melt your heart. Happy 1st birthday, buddy!
