The real kicker to this 1940s fashion shoot was the planes

This shoot would have been really cool all on it’s own but the Legacy Flight Museum was the perfect place to make it even cooler. The planes and cars were the perfect backdrops to all of the portraits and of course make gorgeous photographs on their own. These are those photos of them all by themselves. My favorite are the light painting photos.

For the photo of the red truck we waited until dark and then went outside and left our shutters open for 15 seconds while we light painted the truck with flashlights. I was at f/ 18 and ISO 100. I had so much fun with this shoot. I know all of us had a great time. Special thank you to the Legacy Flight Museum for their generosity in letting us invade their space for a few hours.

Enjoy!

Paige! You did such a great job on these! I love your lighting in every single one. I especially love the light painting you did of the plane and car outside. That was sheer brilliance, because I didn’t even think of that. I love how you were able to characterize the items through text, and your use of light. Great job!
